Baby Registry

I am almost officially done with my registry. Before I make the BIG announcement on the items I'd like to receive, I'm looking for recommendations. Here are a couple of things to remember: I do plan to breastfeed for at least 6 months (I'm going to push for a year), the color of the room is a neutral green, my mother-in-law will be the care provider when I return to work, and we are accepting hand-me-downs.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any age appropriate toys and books that I should be looking for? Is there anything you didn't get for your baby (or for yourself) that you wished you should have purchased?

Please send your ideas. I'm wrapping this baby registry process up really soon.

Quick story: For those who don't know, I like to be organized and have a plan. I started on my baby registry with BabiesRUs on-line and decided to go to the store to finish it off (or so I thought) this past Saturday. I got my little scanner, took off my coat, and went to work. I liked the sound of the beep and started off strong. I had did my research on suggested items to purchase, product safety, and items that I really didn't need. Once I got pass the bottles, I knew I was in trouble. Can we say OVERWHELMED! I swear this is a multimillion dollar business of selling us excited pregnant women a bunch of stuff we will probably never use. Oh...but isn't it adorable? After about an hour, I ran out of steam and got outta there in a hurry. Needless to say, I have to go back to finish!!! I hope my child isn't a shopper. Or, I'm going to be in trouble....

buy plenty of breast pads - favorite brand started with an L (that's all i remember), but it was the best brand and coverage under any bra. 'grow-with-you' furniture is very helpful and soft on your wallet. babies grow quick and it becomes a big relief to have adjustable items. don't waste your time/money on 0-3 month clothing (stick with a few basics (e.g. onezies, socks, blakets). they'll be out of them so quickly, you'll be glad you have lots of bigger clothes. you'll have plenty of 0-3 month diapers from the hospital that you won't need to stock up on that (maybe just a few, but play it by ear). sink style tubs come in handy (again adjustable is key!). get ready for more laundry! if you nor Aaron enjoy doing laundry, i highly recommend having a service pick-up drop off, especially for the first three months after birth. Hope this helps! Registries CAN be overwhelming, but hope you had fun!

My favorite item was the Snap-n-Go Stroller. It is a MUST!!! The baby's car seat snaps in to the universal Snap-n-Go stroller in seconds, it is lightweight, and you don't have to wake the baby up if he/she fell asleep in the car. It also has a basket below for all your purchases. :-) If you didn't register for this...you MUST go back...

Good Luck!
