Four years ago today, my life changed forever. Don’t get me wrong. There are other things that have happened that has largely impacted my life such as death, marriage, or buying my first home. I think carrying and giving birth to a child is totally different. This little person is directly a reflection of YOU. You cannot change DNA…PERIOD.
I think back to my delivery of the precious “chocolate chunk”. It’s very similar to his personality currently. He takes his time doing things. When he is ready to do something, he’s really ready and he’s gives his best, full out effort. You better spring to action. He can be stubborn at times (DNA) but overall he’s such a sweet, polite boy. He is very quick mentally.
It is truly amazing to watch his development over the last year. His speech, vocabulary, and language have been in overdrive. He is much more socially flexible with his peers, unknown children, and his baby brother. He has graciously learned how to share…although it’s a struggle at times (which is normal when you really WANT something for yourself only). He loves fruity things but not chocolate anything. He can devour vanilla ice cream, butter cookies, pizza, and daddy’s homemade burgers.
His creativity and imaginations reminds me of myself when I was 6 or 7 years old. Was I delayed in this area? He has created a city on my coffee table donated to me from a good friend. He has Lego-made buildings and houses, a construction site, an auto showroom, and a traffic jam. Do NOT come over and touch it. PLEASE!!!!
He loves Team Umizoomi, Disney Pixar Cars, and Dora. We are trying to get him to play educational games on his new Nabi. One thing about AJ, when he becomes fixated on something, he is hooked for a while. His attention span for one subject that he is absorbed with is outstanding for a preschooler. He loves computers and technology in general. I hope he stays that way. That is one thing that will not slow down and continues to change. Right now, I think he will become an Engineer. His attention to detail is incredible. We’ll see. Until he grows up and decides his career for himself, I will continue to dream and watch him grow.
Happy Birthday Aaron Stewart Jr!!!
*When you ask him “what’s your name?” he states his complete name. I’ll have to teach him to add his middle name to the mix!*
