Have you ever had a child who used every trick in the book to NOT go to bed? Well today...AJ is trying my last nerves.
I did get him upstairs. Pooped in the potty.
Thought I was doing good.
Got him in the bath. But then, it started to go downhill.
Bubble attacks on me.
Get out of the tub, pajamas on, and teeth brushed. Thought I regained control.
Read a book. Re-read the same book. OH NO!
AJ: "Scratch my back." His father started this habit.
AJ: "Give me a massage."
OK...THIS took the cake.
When I stopped, he cried for daddy to come in and do it right.
Are you kidding me?
Started over. He's comfy.
Me: "Good Night AJ. I love you."
Then, guess what?
AJ starts crying for something. I couldn't understand what he was saying. I go back into the room.
AJ: "Momma I want Doritoes."
Me: "The kitchen is closed. We don't eat Doritoes after you brush your teeth."
AJ: "But, I didn't eat very much and I'm very hungry."
I know he didn't try to give me a GUILT trip.
Me: "Well, lesson learned. Eat more for dinner."
I leave. He'll settle down eventually and go to sleep.
At this rate, his negotiation skills will be pretty fine tuned by the time he's 5. For now, I got his game. It's not working tonight little buddy.
