My Aric...Every day he makes me say, "That boy is something else." Yesterday, I knew something was right when he didn't eat dinner. The boy does NOT pass up food. I just gave him liquids and kept it movin. He woke up in the middle of the night burning up. So needless to say, it was a long night. Today at 3:30pm, I got a cup of Starbucks and braced myself for an evening with clingy and heavy toddler. Since he was sick, he didn't go to daycare and I picked him up from his grandparents. He proceeded to fight with AJ over the little decorations on the window at full attack mode. He shook his apple juice all over my back seat and himself. When we got home, he spread apple sauce all over his hair, eyes, and high chair. His appetite obviously came back because my cheese quesadillas were gone. That boy is something else. I don't think I got all the apple sauce out. Oh well...maybe tomorrow I'll try again.
Aric is really talking alot. Honestly, I can understand most of what he communicates. He talks about buses every day. This conversation gets a little crazy and we get a ton of gibberish. I just say, "Yeah!" Right now, it's working. I caught him singing Wheel On The Bus and he was doing the hand motions. He loves books. Thankfully, he has moved off of Cars Galore. He is trying to jump. He identified a frog that we have in their water toy bin, said "RIBBIT", and tried to jump like a frog. He loves to write...on anything. He holds a pen, marker, or crayon with perfect form...seriously. I should take a picture because I don't believe it myself.
My AJ...chocolate chunk is definitely gain more self-awareness and identity. He wants to do things on his own. He understands the concept of MINE very well. If you don't understand it, he'll teach you quickly. His verbal skills are pretty good for a 4 year. He can pick up new words and their meanings easily. So uses most words in perfect context. The funniest thing is that he'll say "MOVE OVER DUDE" when another driver cuts me off or traffic is bad. Thank goodness my language is pretty wholesome when he's around. But one thing is for certain, I need to stop yelling at poor driving!!!
