No...we are not getting a puppy. Getting a puppy is like having a baby that never grows up past the age of 3.
We are not moving. Both sets of grandparents would officially kick us to the curb for taking their babies away.
The news is ARIC POOPED IN THE POTTY!!!
For those of you who have gone through this process, you understand this is a big deal. We fear that our kids will either be constipated and fear pooping in the potty. OR...they continue to poop in underwear which harder than having on a pull up. Until a kid can do all bodily functions in the toilet on their own, it's a battle of the wills.
Aric has done one stellar job in the process. Despite his overall playfulness, he has caught on pretty well. Today, he made it all the way home with the same clothing on and waited until I was preoccupied to have an accident on the floor. The staff in his classroom at school are impressed with his progress.
He obviously wants to some things in his own way. So, when he laid out on the floor in the bathroom today, I walked away. I just couldn't take it any longer. I hoped that he would just figure it out. A few seconds later, the door closes. It's quiet. When I go check on him, he's looking inside the potty staring.
Mommy: "What's wrong Aric."
And there it was, it wasn't large. But...it's a step in the right direction.
So why do parents become obsessed????
- Most preschool programs do not take children who are not potty trained at 3.
- Freedom! No more bulky bags to carry around diapers and extra clothing.
- Save $$$$$$!!!! Pull-ups/Easy-ups are just overpriced diapers that hold less crap in them...literally.
It's like you're in a dark, never ending tunnel. Then, you see a pin of light. Eventually, everything is shiny and bright!
I'm proud of him. GO ARIC!
